It is also incredibly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue, with strong mechanical property retention from sub-zero temperatures to 300°C.

Copper Nickel 70 / 30 Pipe Fittings have intermediate strength levels when annealed, allowing them to be employed in more demanding applications. It also has an innate resistance against biofouling. Copper Nickel 70 / 30 Pipe Fitting is easily hot and cold worked and reacts well to most fabrication methods. It may also be linked via soldering, brazing, and a variety of welding techniques. With good hot and cold formability and malleability similar to copper, the alloy does not solidify quickly, making it suitable for drawing and spinning.

The alloy is used in activities in the marine sector, such as submarine and seawater pipework, and areas where strong corrosion resistance is required but stainless steels are not employed due to concerns about chloride stress-corrosion cracking. These include industries such as offshore oil and gas, power generation, desalination, and cooling plants.
