It is often used in Boiler Nozzles, Corrugated Boxes, Cyclones, Bar Baskets, Radiant Tubes, and more. Meanwhile, the steel has been designed to be used at temperatures over 550 Degree C, where the most suitable temperature range is 850-1100 Degree C. When compared to high nickel alloys like Grade 310, 253MA has a lower nickel concentration, which offers it an edge in reducing sulphide atmospheres. The steel has exceptional oxide stability, high raised temperature strength, and great resistance to precipitation due to the high silicon, nitrogen, and cerium content. This grade's austenitic structure provides its exceptional durability, even at cryogenic temperatures.

Even though not designed for aqueous corrosion resistance, the high chromium and nitrogen concentration gives 253 MA sheets a pitting resistance similar to that of stainless steel 316. However, because of its high carbon content, 253MA is very susceptible to sensitization from welding or service exposure. Under temperatures up to 1150�C, it has good air resistance. Steel forms a thin, extremely adhesive, and elastic oxide at high temperatures. Even in cyclic situations, this oxide provides adequate protection. Because 253MA has high strength at high temperatures, it is frequently utilised in applications involving temperatures exceeding 500�C and up to 900�C.
